Tips & Hints For Your Baby's Care

Is your child suffering from colic? A common disorder that lasts only a few weeks of crying fits, during which he kicks, stiffens his legs and draws them towards the abdomen and there seems to be nothing that can calm him down. This crying is, in fact, quite different from that when he is tired or hungry, and therefore easily recognizable. More info.

All mothers want the best for their children. They want the best education, the most comfortable shelter, the most fashionable baby clothes, and the best newborn, baby and toddler products for their children.

One of the most important items in having a baby is the stroller. There are substantial details to consider before purchasing a stroller and two of them are safety and comfort. Babies are like treasures that are valued by parents that is why we need to make sure that the stroller we buy is safe enough to carry our child. It is also important that our baby feels comfortable in her stroller.

In Chicco’s Liteway Stroller, you can have both – safety and comfort for your precious child. It is approved for use from 0-3 years of age. It has a strong 5-point safety harness which can hold your baby effectively. The stroller has a twin rear wheel breaking system which can assure you of your child’s safety. For parents, this baby equipment has been designed with ergonomically shaped non-slip handle grips so you can maintain a grasp on it properly. With regards to comfort, this product is fully reclinable to 5 position backrest with one hand recline – to accommodate the current activity of your child whether he is sleeping or just watching the view. The stroller also has a compact umbrella fold to protect your baby during sunny days outdoors. Its leg rest can also be adjusted in 2 positions.

If you want complete equipment for your child, purchase a good travel system. A baby travel system has a comprehensive line of equipment to transport your child from one place to another. There are a lot of travel systems available in the market nowadays. There are different choices for your baby’s needs.

The Duo CT0 2 Travel System from Chicco is an example of a good travel system. Key Fit is a child car seat approved for car transport for Group 0+ (for children up to 13 kgs of weight). It can be fitted very easily on almost all types of cars. The handle has a single button which allows you to close or open the stroller with just one hand. You can also maneuver the strollers with one hand with its large handle. The stroller also has a removable toy tray for front protection to your child, a basket below it, a bottle holder, and a container space – all for your convenience. The Chicco Living Travel System is one of the company’s best-selling products. It is the Travel System studied for children and designed for mothers. With every detail, materials, and solutions for use chosen to ensure baby’s health, it satisfies the highest standards of comfort and safety. The quality finishes make it a gratifying “accessory” for mothers who insist upon elegance, because when you’re out for a stroll, Mom likes to be admired, too! It has a reversible seat which can be used in parent-facing or front-facing mode. Having the child face the parent is more advisable because small babies maintain eye contact with their mom or dad. The backrest reclines to 4 different positions for comfy naps when out and about. The exclusive quick connect/disconnect mechanism allows you to change from parent-facing to front-facing mode in a few seconds. From 6 months onwards, the stroller seat can be turned to the traditional front-facing position. The ultra-compact and lightweight frame is effortless to push and easy to close. The double twist handles can easily be turned into a single handle for comfort and practicality. The spacious seat and double padding made of top quality breathable fabrics provide comfort for your baby.

Baby bottles are also important. Mothers who are bottle feeding and breastfeeding their babies can both make use of baby bottles. Babies who are breastfed can have their meals from the bottle when mothers pump their milk for the little ones. As for the breastfed babies, they drink milk from bottles regularly. Mothers who love their kids should choose the non-BPA bottles to ensure their child’s safety. Always remember that BPA or Bisphenol A is hazardous to our health. It is a chemical building block that is used primarily to make polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins.

Chicco has a wide collection of feeding bottles. There is the Evolution Plastic Feeding Bottles, the Nature Glass Feeding Bottles, the Plastic Bottles + Natural Rubber Latex Teats, and the Glass Bottles + Latex Teats. All these bottles are non-BPA.

It Isn't True:

...If the mother is anaemic or has low levels of haemoglobins, for example caused by an excessive loss of blood during the Caesarean birth, she cannot breast-feed. This is because the loss of iron during the complete period of feeding is less than the amount lost during the course of a single menstruation.

...Milk loses its nutritional properties with the passinimg of time. Over time, milk becomes more watery because its composition changes, but not because it loses its nutritional value.baby products toys games baby educational

...Short-sightedness is an obstacle for breast-feeding. Breast-feeding is also allowed in the case of severe short sightedness, on condition that there are no injuries to the retina.

...A small breast produces a small quantity of milk, because the production of milk does not depend on the size of the breast.

….Flat or retracted nipples affect breast-feeding negatively, because the baby does not latch on to the nipple but to the areola.

...If the newly born baby does not burp it has not digested the food. A burp is only a sound made by the emission of air, which has collected in the stomach during the feeding, and has nothing to do with digestion.

...Formula milk causes allergies. For the milk to cause allergies, the diet factor must be associated with a hereditary factor. That is to say, that the predisposition to allergies is present in other members of the family (brothers and sisters or parents).

…Drinking beer increases the production of milk. During breast-feeding, it is advisable to drink more liquids and eat raw vegetables, rich in water. Beer has no particular properties.

…A baby who is breast-fed needs to drink water when it is very hot, because maternal milk contains all the water that a newly born baby needs.

…Breast-fed babies need a supplement of vitamin D. The newly born baby stores this vitamin during pregnancy and it is sufficient to have regular exposure to the sun during outings in order to obtain all the vitamin D that it needs.
pram strollers maternity wear pregnancy
…Breast-fed babies need a supplement of iron. Maternal milk contains all the iron that the newly born baby needs, at least during the first 6 months of life.

…If a mother has an infection, she must stop breast-feeding. Apart from very few exceptions, the best protection for a newly born baby is to continue to be breast-fed. If the child becomes ill, the duration of the illness is shorter if the mother continues to breast-feed it.

…Breast-feeding is inadvisable when vomit or diarrhea occurs, because, in these situations, maternal milk is the only liquid that a baby needs.

Before you decide to bring with you your newborn on his very first trip, be sure you have a very good car seat for him. Always use a child car seat, even over short distances.  Never hold a baby in your arms as it would be impossible to restrain him in the event of sudden braking. Child car seats belonging to Group /0/+ (up to 13kg in weight) must be installed so the baby is facing backwards, to reduce the effect of any possible impact on the child's neck.  Always deactivate air bags where the child car seat is installed.

Chicco has different car seat for your needs and preferences. The Proxima car seat can be adapted to suit your child’s growth from birth to 3 years old. It is tested and approved to ECE R44/04 International Standards to carry children 0-18kgs. The reducer cushion, spacious comfy seat and reclining backrest guarantee maximum comfort for your child as he grows. The soft padding on the reducer cushion supports your baby’s head, shoulders and legs, while the special wedge guarantees that your baby's spine "lies flat" in the seat (until he weights 6kgs). The reinforced padding in the lumbar zone of the seat guarantees extra comfort for your child, and makes travelling in the car a pleasure. The product reclines to 4 different positions. The Proxima is user friendly and easy to install and the safety belt guides are coloured to make them identifiable (light blue for Gr.0+ and red for Gr.1). The Key 1 Isofix system is the most innovative, practical and safest system for fitting a child seat into the car. With this safety device, the Key 1 Isofix is not simply placed on the seat of the car, but it becomes an integral part of the car’s structure. With it’s 3 point locking device, the Key 1 Isofix allows you to fit the child seat into the car utilising the rigid base that ensures maximum safety and protection in the event of an accident. The Key 1 Isofix system does not require the use of the car’s safety belt, therefore avoiding the risk of incorrect fitting. The New Zenith 0+1 child car seat has a standard insert pillow in breathable fabric that allows you to transport your baby in the car with the maximum comfort during the first months of his life. he Key 1 child car seat is approved to ECE R44/04 Regulation for Group 1, for car transportation of children from 9 up to 18kgs of weight (approximately from 1 up to 4 years of age). It has the Adjustable Safety System, an integrated device that allows you to simultaneously adjust the headrest and safety harness in 6 positions in a single movement. This exclusive system is very practical for the mother and safe and comfortable for the child for the entire period of use.

Chicco Cortina Travel System Reviews

5 Star

Pros: Chicco Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule is priceless. Good gender neutral color, good sized basked, I liked how you could take off all the liners/cloth components to wash them if needed. I loved the fact that the sun shade wasn't attached to the handle section so you could position the unbrella all the way down to block the sun/wind if needed.
Cons: Chicco Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule didn't come with a bug netting and it was a bit big. But all Chicco Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule strollers would be big so can't hold this against the product.
Overall: Have had the Chicco Cortina Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsulefor the last 18 months and love it. It would have to be in the all time top 5 things I would recommend to new parents. The Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule is a must for being out and about with baby and not having to wake them up when transferring from the car to in the house. Also very handy as you can get baby all strapped in the capsule while inside the house and comfortable instead of while crammed in the back of the car. We also used the Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule when our daughter had a bad cold (for her to sleep in), it kept her head elevated, we found she slept much better in this when she was stuffy.

4 Star

Pros: Chicco Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule is a great idea as the capsule clicks into the stroller and you do not have to take your baby out and transfer him into the stroller. Stroller and Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule both very stylish in good colours. The storage basket in stroller has plenty of space and there is a handy storage compartment for your bits and pieces. The handlebar is adjustable and was very comfortable for me with my 176cms. The sun shade is large and adjustable. The Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule is on the heavy side but appears sturdy and safe. It clicks in and out of the base easily.
Cons: My son (now 4 months) has hated sitting in the car seat from the very start, as it is too narrow and uncomfortable for him. Because of this, we were not able to take advantage of the Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule as I had to take him out of the seat as soon as possible. He also overheats in the seat very quickly. The stroller's seat is also narrow and there isn't enough space for his head when the seat is reclined.
Overall: The Chicco Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule is very handy if your baby is comfortable in it, as it takes the hassle out of transferring them from seat to stroller. It is easy to operate, looks attractive and the stroller has great features. I would have been very happy with the stroller and seat but my son has not enjoyed them due to lack of space (he has always been completely average in weight and length for his age).

5 Star

Pros: Chicco Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule A good stroller that has been well thought out. Seat reclines at several levels from lying flat to almost 90 degrees. The sun shade moves so you can move it to protect baby from the sun, wind and rain from the top right down to the food tray. System to fit capsule easy to use. Is fairly compact when folded (compared to similar strollers that did not fit in our boot).
Cons: Small things. Chicco Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule storage basket hard to get into when the stroller seat is flat (which is needed when the capsule is in it). You can not see your child if the sun shade is up and no see through flap. Drink bottle holder only holds smaller sized bottles.
Overall: A Chicco Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule great product that has been well thought out in many of the little things, that we did not know to look for when having our first baby. A good stroller for most occasions but not for off road, really a pavement/shopping center stroller. I would buy this product again and recommend it.

4 Star

Pros: Stroller light and easy to handle.
Cons: Stroller too narrow. My baby didn't fit in it anymore when he was 3 months old (about 6 kg). He didn't fit in the capsule either. I had to sell it and buy a larger, more comfy stroller nad a car seat. Not so easy to handle capsule in and out of car.
Overall: Chicco Baby Travel system Baby Travel Capsule Good choice if you have a baby that puts on weight slowly. Plus, I realized there's no need to ever own a capsule, you can very well buy a car seat from the start

Some Baby Car Seats should have a side Impact Cushion Technology is a revolutionary new technology. To improve the chance of surviving a crash, the forces on your child need to be minimised. In a frontal crash there is substantial crumple zone to absorb the energy but in a side impact crash there is minimal distance between a car seat and car window/door.

Baby car seats with Air Cushions are specifically designed to absorb side impact energy on your child’s head. As the cushion compresses it dispels air at a controlled rate, and this results in the cushion absorbing the crash energy.

Air Cushion maximises head protection by dramatically reducing side impact forces. As the cushion compresses it dispels air at a controlled rate, and this results in the cushion absorbing crash energy. Head accelerations experienced by a child in c ar seats or baby capsules are lower and dispersed over a longer period of time.

Tilt & Adjust Headrest features deep side wings that shield and contain your child's head in a side impact crash. Hassle free harness is a one pull height adjustable headrest which automatically repositions the harness of the car seat, baby travel system or baby capsule. Helpful harness holders will make it easy to get your child in and out of the seat. They will also prevent hot harness tongues from touching your child's skin.
